LAB 6 & 7 SHIPPING CONTAINERS

The new city district of Tømmerkaia needs small businesses on street level. We engaged all of our user communities at the earlier stage of the co-creation process by involving them in planning a shipping container city. A 5-10 year project, we designed scenarios for a café, concert space, art studios, greenhouse and temporary pyrolab.

In a series of five meetings in March and April 2019, we landed organization and funding. In May, June and August our 12 representatives for user groups met to land a framework for the temporary structures. Artist Grete Rokstad played with stacking the containers as a sculptural installation.

In November 2019 the project was cancelled due to shortage of space and budget problems.
